Then there is the domino effect: you change one element and, as a result, one by one so many things change. It happens in life (have you tried moving? Then you end up changing jobs, or friends, or start what can safely be called a new life, made up of different hobbies, interests and goals), and it happens at home, that place that is much more than a place to stay, but rather a symbol, a representation of ourselves. Desire for the new that cannot come unless the old is thrown away. Decluttering (literally getting rid of what clutters) is much more than a fad, although the word has been on everyone's lips for some time now. It is a real need. It is a check-point, because it requires the courage to face our hidden spaces, those where old things and useless objects hide, real blocks to our transformation, our creativity and our well-being. It also requires a certain physical effort, because every time we start, we end up with bags of things to throw away*.
So, as per the design rule, “less is more”. When it comes down to less, each category brings a desire for renewal.
In a minimal environment with modern furniture with clean lines, adding a carpet warms the atmosphere and gives the room character.Pictured, URBAN furnishing carpet, available in three sizes. At this point it becomes easy and extremely pleasant: a new object (in the lightened category) fits in much better because it finds its own space, its own attention. It does not end up on top of a pile of ugly and useless objects, but remains the protagonist of its sector, standing out amidst the empty/clean/ordered.
The result? More energy, more positivity in the home environment, and for the people living there. A beautiful result, I would say, that is achieved by starting with a simple, but profound, tidying up. A great way to get back into the swing of things in the autumn, a season always full of projects, in which we rediscover the pleasure of being at home. *following the advice of experts and decluttering professionals, the things we eliminate from the house do not necessarily end up in the bin.
In that order, they can be: given away, bartered, recycled, reused. And eventually thrown away.
