packaging disposal guidelines
This is the recipe for maintaining the leadership position it has gained year after year, establishing itself as the leading all-round carpet specialist in Italy and Europe.Olivo covers the entire carpet world and follows each market segment through its divisions Olivo Tappeti, Olivo Pro e Platinum Custom Rugs.
To date, the company is considered the most reliable partner for distributors, retailers and interior design professionals working in the home sector, and it is with them and all its collaborators that Olivo Tappeti today celebrates with pride and immense joy this first great stretch of road travelled, which it does not consider a finishing line, but only the continuation of a story that began 40 years ago.
It was, in fact, 1982 when Cav. Marcello Olivo took his first steps in the home carpet business, with a great desire to do business and a good dose of intuition. A dream that came true and later evolved with the entry of his sons Matteo and Francesco into the company in 1992 and 1997.An evolution in terms of turnover, cubic metres of warehouse space, conquest of foreign markets and technology and innovation in the logistics and commercial sectors.
Since 2002, his wife Valeria's signature has appeared on all carpets, another fundamental part of Olivo Tappeti's history.
The Olivo family
Packaging is a very important issue for businesses, as logistics can play a considerable role in the overall sustainability of a product. This is a two-fold issue, affecting B2B, regarding the shipment of goods from the producer to the point of sale, but also the impact on the daily life of the end customer.
He will, in fact, be faced with the task of disposing of the packaging.
An action to which everyone is accustomed by now, but which it is crucial is carried out correctly and, if possible, without major headaches, or else the procedures will be abandoned and a recourse to undifferentiated waste in extremis.
Therefore, successful disposal is the responsibility of the manufacturer, the upstream actor in the whole chain leading to the correct disposal of packaging.

One can also address this issue from the brand point of view, the quality it expresses, its “green” nature and the value it brings to people's lives, protecting the environment.
Being green in words no longer works, the accusation of green washing (façade operations that are not reflected in everyday behaviour) is an ever-ready threat, thanks also to a growing sensitivity of people in this respect.
On the contrary, environmental intentions must be constantly supported by visible behaviour, with tangible effects for all.
A brand that takes care of environmental issues implements strategies to spread this culture, and takes responsibility for the entire supply chain, up to the end consumer.
Olive Carpets how to dispose of packaging
As if that were not enough, here comes the legislation. As of 1 January 2023, the obligation of environmental labelling will come into force: all packaging released for consumption in Italy (both locally produced and imported) will have to be appropriately labelled, so as to clearly give the end customer all the information, in order to facilitate collection, reuse, recovery and, finally, recycling through separate waste collection.
We have already done this by including in the new labels a QRcode linking to a simple guide, images of the different elements found on our carpets and doormats. For each packaging detail (labels, cards, “jumpers”, hangers), we define the material of which it is made, in technical terms, and indicate the relative destination of the delivery, between paper and plastic, using an elementary system of images.
