Circularity and sustainability with natural fibre carpets

Natural biodegradable cotton carpet Other than fashion. That of the natural fibre carpets is an issue that we have taken to heart in recent years and will prove to be crucial in the coming years.

Why? We cannot remain indifferent to our impact on the environment and the future we are creating, that's for sure. Even in the choice of carpet we can help reduce waste through products designed with “nature-friendly” materials.

This awareness led us to make a “circular” choice using eco-friendly raw materials to realise some of our biodegradable carpets. Natural fibres such as organic cotton and the coconut obtained from the natural waste of the plant's nut are the ideal green choice in terms of product sustainability. Here are the reasons why.

They are biodegradable carpets

Natural fibre carpets are obviously compostable, which means that they do not pollute the environment when disposed of. This is especially important considering that many articles made from synthetic materials can take hundreds of years to degrade if not disposed of properly.

Greening production

By using elements such as organic cotton and coconut, it is possible to reduce dependence on oil-derived materials, which are a non-renewable and highly polluting source. Our fibres do not require the use of toxic chemicals during the production process of biodegradable carpets.

They are recyclable

Another huge advantage of using natural fibres in carpets is that they can be easily recycled. At the end of their life cycle, in fact, they are dismantled and the fibres reused to create new carpets in turn, thus reducing waste and making production and consumption circular.

Two examples of natural fibre carpets: Marrakech and Re-birth

Spokesmen for this philosophy and concrete examples of natural fibre carpets designed with a circular approach are certainly Marrakech, the flat-weave double face made of 100% recycled cotton, and Re-birth of the project Let's go green. Made entirely of coconut fibre, the latter is biodegradable and organically compostable, so much so that, once out of use can be put in the ground to give life to new plants. And we don't stop there: the 95% of Olivo Tappeti's packaging is made of recycled paper and polyethylene and is also recyclable.

Re-birth biodegradable doormats From our side, it is a way to adhere to circularity and sustainability in production with biodegradable doormat solutions. On the other hand, from people's point of view, it is an opportunity to support more environmentally friendly and consumer-friendly behaviour in every aspect of their lives.
This kind of vision aims to create, on both sides, a virtuous cycle in which everything is used responsibly and sustainably, minimising waste.

In a world that is increasingly focused on sustainability and environmental protection, the path we have taken is a positive example of how companies can contribute to a more sustainable future and how people can make informed choices when they buy. Through natural fibre carpets, and more generally through our actions, the common goal is to secure a better future for us and our planet.
