How to make the change of season

The season of awakening, of flowers, of colours, of the desire to change at least something in ourselves and in the home.
But also the moment when there is no escape: it's time for the season change in the wardrobe.
Will it be possible to do it without stress? Let's try it in ten steps! Becoming a green company in the carpet world how-to-make-season-change-and-furnish-with-carpets A Well Organised Wardrobe How to Make the Seasonal Change

  1. Begin! And go step by step

There are many theories on the subject.
We, who are for a relaxed life, still opt for the soft solution: no drastic measures, such as spilling the entire contents of the wardrobe onto the bed, with the threat of not being able to go to sleep if you have not finished the task.
Conversely, if the question is how to make the change of season, the answer is that there is no single, complete method, but the point lies in making the first move.
Then we will go step by step, counting on a positive domino effect.
Everyone likes to find cupboards, but also closets and cupboards, in order. Once one is done, one will gladly move on to the next.
This appointment should not be the most dreaded of the year, but should turn into something absolutely normal, and even pleasant (promise!).

  1. Dreaming of the end point

We are not crazy, we know that every year is extra work for us to do.
If, however we keep our eyes and imagination on the advantages that we will have achieved when the work is completed, fatigue will take a back seat and seem less.
The wardrobe from enemy will turn into our favourite place where we will find everything we need, and only what we like, saving us time every time we have to get ready to go out.

  1. Look at it as an opportunity for decluttering

By decluttering we have already spoken, and we all agree on how healthy it is for the home and for ourselves.
The change of season becomes the prime time for practising this art. It is forbidden to keep everything from last season, and forbidden to store in boxes everything that has clogged up our winter wardrobe.
The operation must be a time of evaluation and selection, with the aim of always eliminating something (if only to make room for something else new).

  1. Critical spirit, not critical

Be careful not to exaggerate: one should only criticise the contents of the cupboard, not the one who has brought the most outlandish things to stay with us beyond the permitted time.
We think that, in any case, we are making ourselves (more) beautiful, bringing our clothing back into vogue for the coming season.

  1. Lighten your conscience. Select and do not throw away.

If we are working well, we will be looking at the garments thinking about how to tackle the next season.
We are probably not what we would have imagined a few months ago when we put away our summer clothes; we may be fatter (easy, after the lockdown), we may have changed our habits and the occasions when our clothes will serve us (are we more sporty? Working from home?), and we certainly could not have known what the trends of the season would be.
It goes without saying that our leaders will still take two paths: stay or go.
Those who have to leave must not give us fits of conscience.
As in decluttering, the clothes we discard can have new life in someone else's wardrobe, so let's get rid of them with a light heart.

  1. Everything in its place and a place for everything.

That is, the triumph of hangers and containers. Here, yes, shopping can get wild, although we suggest that it should still be thoughtful.
It is true that equipping oneself with the right containers, which are functional and also beautiful, will greatly help the task of storing the garments of the opposite season, and will turn our wardrobes into “tidy machines”, capable of presenting our clothes at their best.
Between specialised shops for the home and the web, there are plenty of bargains to be had, and there may be interesting novelties in store.
The important thing is to be clear about what we really need.

  1. Find (finally) space for accessories

If there is absolutely no room in the wardrobe for objects that have nothing to do with our clothing (from the ironing board to snowshoes, to the toolbox), if we have made space properly, we will finally have created the ideal place to display accessories, usually penalised and relegated to more or less hidden piles.
The selection we will have made will have resulted in an essential (though not necessarily minimal) wardrobe, which will need to be enhanced precisely with accessories, from scarves to belts, from jewellery to hats and bags.

  1. Wash, iron (in small doses) and store.

The final stage, perhaps the most challenging, is to be read as an investment for the next season's change of our wardrobe.
Perhaps the recommendation is superfluous, but every garment should be stored in perfect condition, including mending if necessary, so that it will be ready when we return to use it.
Ironing is not liked by everyone, and it is an environmentally unfriendly activity, but it is useful.

  1. Create combinations and define your style

In essence, play with your wardrobe. Reviewing the garments we already own can be an opportunity to study new combinations, or new versions that the same piece can have, thanks to accessories.
Dedicating oneself to the change of season means giving oneself a moment to be in control, at a glance, of everything that makes up our style, and possibly taking the opportunity to revisit it.

  1. Make room for the new

We definitely end on a high note.
Have you ever thought that reorganising your wardrobe, reducing it to the essentials (i.e. to what you really need and what you really like), is the prerequisite for creating space for new purchases?
Thinking about this milestone will be the best way to help us face not a feat but a very positive moment for us, and our style.

Now that our wardrobe has become our ally, why not embellish it with a carpet, on which to pleasantly pause, perhaps barefoot, every time we open it to choose our outfit?
