Celebrating Valentine's Day at home

The secret of happiness is to be content with what you have, and to interpret every obstacle as a stimulus to innovate.
This general definition is perfectly suited to these days, when we are thinking about how to celebrate Valentine's Day even staying at home.
The unusual condition we find ourselves in should not only not get in the way of our romantic thoughts, but can actually become the reason to invent something new for our Valentine. celebrate-saint-valentine-at-home

In the picture - simply together

The the number one enemy of romance is bad moods, So let us banish melancholy and, instead of looking at what we will not be able to do, let us welcome the opportunity to surprise our lover. How?
One hint comes immediately: there will be no outings, no walks, and not even alternative evenings (e.g. in a spa, with the classic “couple's pampering” treatments, which are otherwise wonderful). Even the pampered little restaurant will be out of our reach, for reasons of force majeure. The good news is that 14 February will be a Sunday, so we will have plenty of time to devote to creating an event worthy of being remembered for a long time.
Who knows, celebrating Valentine's Day at home might become the best idea in years!
We will not make subtleties related to the possibility of reaching your loved one, depending on the dpcm of the day. We think you will at least be able to share a lunch or dinner not too late.

Let's start thinking about the setting, with some ideas for transforming our house for the occasion.

Total look

As with the major events, like Christmas, even for Valentine's Day we are allowed to decorate the house with a theme.
Green light to red, the colour of love, flowers, the most welcome gift, and hearts, the representation of the romantic spirit.
We could play with these effects at the entrance, with a dedicated doormat, or give a special touch to the kitchen, where much of our event will take place, starting with the preparation of dinner together.
The other focal point will be the table, which allows us to sport textiles and accessories in red, with the only caution not to overdo the monochrome. celebrate-san-valentine-at-home-tappeti-heart

Valentino red for the red carpet

With a pinch of irony, we will be able to create a real red carpet, which will amaze our Valentine, making him feel even more like the special person we have been waiting for (even though he has never left home).
Playing and having fun together, let's not forget, increases intimacy and tickles the fancy... Why not go overboard with the ceremonial, really walk the red carpet and celebrate Valentine's Day at home as if we were invited to a social reception?

For children

S. Valentine's Day is the patron saint of lovers, who wish to get married, but let's not forget that in other countries, for example those with an Anglo-Saxon tradition, it is a custom that affects everyone one loves, from relatives to school or playmates. Even the children's bedroom could be transformed into a themed room, where the inspiration to create the cards with the messages of affection will come better.

The kitchen is ... slippery ground!

We're not talking about non-slip bottoms, which are essential for safety: we're really talking about style lapses, which are to be avoided absolutely. When it comes to romance, one must stay as far away as possible from any homely references that could turn our princess into a Cinderella.
Warning to lovers: the risk of misunderstanding is very high! A carpet for the kitchen, however beautiful and themed (hearts, flowers, red), will not be the best Valentine's Day gift. Flowers, bring them real! celebrate-saint-valentine-resting-at-home
