Runner carpets: the post-Giro d'Italia set up Olivo

Cycling Stars Criterium in Valdobbiadene This is the recipe for maintaining the leadership position it has gained year after year, establishing itself as the leading all-round carpet specialist in Italy and Europe.
Olivo covers the entire carpet world and follows each market segment through its divisions Olivo Tappeti, Olivo Pro e Platinum Custom Rugs.

To date, the company is considered the most reliable partner for distributors, retailers and interior design professionals working in the home sector, and it is with them and all its collaborators that Olivo Tappeti today celebrates with pride and immense joy this first great stretch of road travelled, which it does not consider a finishing line, but only the continuation of a story that began 40 years ago.

It was, in fact, 1982 when Cav. Marcello Olivo took his first steps in the home carpet business, with a great desire to do business and a good dose of intuition. A dream that came true and later evolved with the entry of his sons Matteo and Francesco into the company in 1992 and 1997.
An evolution in terms of turnover, cubic metres of warehouse space, conquest of foreign markets and technology and innovation in the logistics and commercial sectors.
Since 2002, his wife Valeria's signature has appeared on all carpets, another fundamental part of Olivo Tappeti's history. The Olivo family The Olivo family Olivo Carpets and its professional division OLIVE.PRO
offer tradesmen and professionals in the field of staging and event organisation a wide range of carpets, rugs and furnishing solutions.
The daily requests are many, and this gives the division the honour of being able to choose the event or retailer to whom it supplies its products, following the customer carefully through all the different stages of the purchasing process, from the simple request for advice and information to the receipt of the material. Last May, the request for ORANGE ASD  of Carmignano di Brenta (PD), a sports club operating in various fields for the promotion of sport, whose staff works with passion and non-profit making to organise all kinds of sporting events and manifestations.
Orange was looking for rugs strictly pink to be used in the staging of the post-Giro d'Italia spectacle event to be held in the Treviso area at the end of the month.

Olivo Tappeti, honoured to be able to contribute to the organisation of such an eagerly awaited and exciting sporting event, accepted the request and (as you can see from the pictures of the event Cycling Stars Criterium) provided an impressive 210 metres of pink event carpet carpet effect, product of which it is the largest producer and seller at national level.

Cycling Stars Criterium: 210 metres of Olivo carpets welcome the athletes of the 3 categories in the race

Loved by audiences of all ages, as well as by cycling enthusiasts, the Giro d'Italia 2022  ended with the now famous post-Giro show known as the Cycling Stars Criterium.
The one held on 30 May was the fourth edition of this event, hosted this year in Valdobbiadene among the famous Prosecco hills, and streamed live from 18:00.
Running together in this race, which unites sport and territory, are active champions and former professionals.
A veritable parade of stars from the world of cycling, with an absolute novelty: the women's cycle race, which was a great success and a warm welcome from the public.

A truly exciting post-Giro race, which saw and acclaimed the winners of the three categories on the podium.

For the women's category, which included 25 laps, Elisa Balsamo, already reigning World Champion, who did not betray the expectations of the fans at the finish line. Second place for Elisa Longo Borghini, third the home athlete Soraya Paladin.

In the ex-professional race, the 2009 Mendrisio World Champion Cadel Evans routed the competition, beating his colleagues Maurizio Fondriest and Lello Ferrara. The Australian athlete managed to take the lead in the last corner, thus winning the 2022 edition of the Cycling Stars Criterium in his category.

The race for professionals, on the other hand, comprised 40 laps of the 1.2 km circuit in the city centre.

Comprising it, an exceptional parterre of athletes. Among them: Nibali, Cavendish, Ciccone, Ballerini, Pozzovivo, Formolo, Oldani, Puccio and Dainese, the best known.

After having written memorable pages in the history of the Giro d'Italia, this year it was Vincenzo Nibali from Messina who also came first on the podium of the Cycling Stars Criterium, finishing ahead of Cavendish and Ciccone thanks to a final breakthrough with -3 laps to go.
Already applauded for three weeks during the Giro itself, from Hungary to Verona, even in Valdobbiadene Nibali (called “Lo Squalo”) was greeted with warmth and ovation by all the fans present, eager to witness what will be one of his last performances as a rider. Established in 1909 by three journalists from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giro d'Italia is one of the three most important international stage cycling races, along with the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.
It was precisely the pages of the famous sports newspaper, pink since its beginnings, that gave the Giro and, from 2017, also the Cycling Stars Criterium its colour.

Pink is not only in the jersey awarded to the athlete leading the general classification, but also used in the design of the entire sporting event, with the exception of the sponsors' advertising banners.

Flags, posters, podium and rugs, all of that “emotional” pink that is not surprisingly associated with birth, hope and positivity.

Pink carpets: the “pink carpet” with Signature Olivo

If you're reading this article and are curious to find out more about the carpets used as “pink carpets” at the Cycling Stars Criterium, you've come to the right place.

The pink runners provided at the sporting event are nothing more than non-slip mats made of 2.60 mm thick carpet-like polypropylene.
They are offered in full roll (30 m long) or cut to length (can be cut to individual customer requirements in various sizes with simple scissors).
The width of the rolls is 1 or 2 m, and there are 9 colours available (white, pink, ivory, red, black, tiffany, green, blue and grey).
The range of colours allows for a wide variety of events: events, shows and parades, weddings and baby showers, Christmas events, corporate events and trade fairs, shop and workshop fittings, and much more. On some of these occasions, the person in charge of the set-up is required to procure materials with fire certifications, as required by current safety regulations.
The designer rugs Olivo Tappeti are no exception and all have a European Bfl-s1 certification, making them suitable for use in public places. How to lay a carpet for events?
The procedure is really quick and easy:
just unroll it and place it where needed!
For an optimal result, however, it is highly recommended to fix it to the floor with the help of an appropriate double-sided adhesive tape. This will allow it to be laid in the best possible way, avoiding creases and ensuring a high degree of security.
The use of the tape is an absolutely reversible action: once the event is over, it can be removed together with the carpet without any special precautions. Cycling Stars Criterium 1
