The starting point for any innovation at Olivo Tappeti is certainly the open dialogue with our dealers and carpet wholesalers. Over the past few months, we have collected feedback, observed the purchasing behaviour of the end customer, analysed the flow in the showroom and compared many ideas with a single objective: offer the retailer a tool that facilitates reordering, enhances the value of the product and lasts over time.
Thanks to a thorough analysis and an ad-hoc strategy to improve our box, we were able to focus on improvements to our carpet displays: increasing stability when loaded, reinforcing the strength of the cardboard supports, increasing ease of handling and a more attractive design. Every detail was scrutinised in our Style Office and translated into concrete advancements that would make our Box Furniture a true ally in the daily work of carpet sellers.

Ultra-strong hardback
The first transformation concerns the base material: we chose a new-generation, thicker and denser pressboard. This cardboard substrate not only withstands loads better, but also provides greater resistance to impact and mechanical stress during set-up and transport. The result is carpet displays that remain firm, even under heavy use, and that do not easily warp or sag at the sides.
State-of-the-art staple guns
The tightness of the various sides of the carton and the inner honeycomb panels has been improved through the adoption of professional, higher-performance and stronger staple guns. These tools, chosen after several tests, fix each joint more effectively, making the overall structure more rigid and durable.
Bespoke wooden pallet
To ensure that the carpet displays always keep their upright and backrest perfectly upright, we have integrated a wooden pallet custom-built for our format. This reinforcing element at the base acts as a real block against any possible accidental inclination: the box remains firmly in place and can be loaded or unloaded without fear, even in confined spaces or on uneven floors.
More order and stability for each individual carpet on display
Inside the Box Furniture, the “honeycomb” dividers play a crucial role: this is where the individual carpets rest, well aligned and easily accessible. In the new version of the carpet displays, we have used honeycomb cardboard with increased thickness, which interferes less with the movement of the carpet and prevents any swaying. Thus, each carpet remains in perfect position and arrives at the end customer in the best aesthetic condition.
An immediate advantage for the retailer is the possibility of manually rearranging individual carpets, by placing them in the same box again. This means:

The furniture box is now elegant, minimalist and designer

The upper part of the box has a light texture, a “factory colour” orange shade that captures attention without being intrusive. The minimalist design blends perfectly with all types of furniture and makes the display area more airy, uncluttered and pleasing to the eye.
The idea of perfectly sustainable carpet displays
At Olivo Tappeti we believe that quality must go hand in hand with respect for the environment. That is why:
- We do not use chemical glues or adhesives: each element is fixed with metal clips, which can be easily removed.
- At the end of its life cycle, the Box Furniture is fully recyclablecardboard and wood can be sent for separate collection, leaving no non-treatable waste.
- The absence of plastics and special alloys reduces the environmental impact of production and disposal.
This choice makes the carpet displays “dry” products, which can be dismantled and disposed of easily, in line with the needs of shops that want to communicate a green and responsible image.
