furniture carpets for study corner
Organising the home - study corner To live better in the home, we have learnt that it is good to have our own space.
This is especially true for boys, who need to concentrate on their studies and carve out corners of autonomy.
In view of the resumption of school, we plan to organise the study corner, hopefully only in the afternoon.
It should be a private space, managed as best as possible in terms of ergonomics and functionality. It is best to furnish this area with the idea of making it a place that invites concentration but also relaxation.
Above all, it will have to be customised, which is why it would be better if it was realised as a project shared with those directly concerned, i.e. the boy or girl who will use it.
Where do I get the study area?
- The first and most natural option is to reorganising the boys' room furnishing it in a different way, envisaging a space management where the study becomes dominant.
Having their own space, to be reserved for an activity as important as their own education, marks a moment of growth for the children.
It is a way of giving importance to their “work”, i.e. the school.
That is why we no longer speak of “bedroom” but of room, with study.
A space of their own
Alternative solutions
- The house could offer alternative solutions, if it has normally little-used corners that can be transformed, finding a new dignity.
This is the case of subscale, of the mansard or some corridors, particularly large, which can become real small rooms.
Even certain compartments, very small ones, can tantilise an interior designer to come up with practical and aesthetically sound solutions: the aim is to have a private area, even a small one.
Emptying these environments, and looking at them from a completely different perspective, one can discover ways of using them that seemed unthinkable.
The rest will be done by the furniture, such as study corner rugs, and the choice of colours.

What if it is hidden?
- This is the case of the “study in the wardrobe”, a solution that smacks of adventure and gives the same room a double life. It is interesting because it perfectly delimits the space (and time) destined for rest from that destined for study, but also puts boundaries on the use of videos and other electronic devices, which should always be very much controlled and limited. The mezzanine, or raised bed, is also an interesting solution, because it isolates the bed, and the time for sleeping, from the rest of the room, which will immediately take on a daytime value, inviting more active tasks, such as studying and playing.
